Design of a pill dispensing unit

The design of a pill dispensing unit. The pill holding chamber and the tilted ground part, a sloping pill base forms the base of the pill holding chamber make a compartment to hold pills to be dispensed. The sloping pill base contains a round opening through which the pill is dropped on to the wheel/gear via gravity. The wheel/gear with custom grooves to receive pills from the pill holding chamber and successfully drop pills in a cup underneath. The lid makes the cover of the pill holding chamber. The parts the unit were designed and 3D printed. The machine unit was assembled by attaching pill wheel/gear with the stepper motor as shown in FIG. 8, which was in turn connected to the Arduino Mega circuit board via Darlington Array, as shown in FIG. 3, to control the rotation of the motor. The wheel/gear is situated in an encasing chamber of the pill dispensing unit such that the encasing chamber allows free rotation of the wheel/gear when the wheel/gear is attached to the stepper motor. The bottom of the encasing chamber contains an opening to allow the pill to pass through to a cup underneath when the pill is dropped by the wheel/gear. The pill dispensing unit is 67.00 mm in height, 50.00 mm in length, and 40.00 mm in width.
